The room is full of people, they're all staring at me, and I think I need to turn around and high tail it out of here.
This is the typical conversation we have in our head when entering a room full of new people whether to work, speak on stage or in pretty much any social environment.
We often don't feel adequate, justified to be there or we lack the self-confidence to see outside the box we have created.
The problem is that this issue will force people to see others and social situations as a place or environment that's not for them. They will increasingly shy away even if there is nothing to worry about.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
